Kutch, Jul 30: On Tuesday, a gang accused of robbing ATMs was busted. Further investigation found that they were drawing inspiration from the movie Dhoom 2. The accused used to re-enact sequences which involved driving speeding cars into a moving truck, which helped them escape the cops.

The robbers committed their crime after spotting ATMs installed on the outskirts of the state. They used to google maps for locating the ATMs and flee the scene once the deed was done.

The police stated that they were receiving complaints regarding the robberies, the investigation led them to the fact that the robbers were dealing with high-tech equipment to commit the crime. The gang used to hide their faces with masks and wear gloves. They would damage CCTV cameras once they were inside the ATM room. The officials also found cars disappearing after few miles of being on the road, they would even not pass the toll plaza. All these hinted to the police that the cars were being driven inside trucks to orchestrate a successful heist as deduced by Parikshitha Rathod, SP of East Kutch.

According to Rathod, there was slim possibility that the gang is from Mewat area of Haryana because of the MO they were following based on the similarities found in Mewat robberies.
