Married couple's bodies found in garden house near Kolkata

Kolkata, Jul 31 (IANS): Bodies of a married couple were recovered from inside trolley bags in the washroom of a garden house in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on Tuesday, in what seems to be a case of twin murder, police said.

Locals were alerted by the foul smell emanating from the garden house in the Tiuria area on Tuesday morning and informed the Narendrapur police station.

"When the bags were opened, we found two bodies, one of a male, the other of a female. Blood stains were also found inside the house," said a police officer.

The bodies were said to be of Paradip Biswas and his wife Alpana, who were employed as caretakers of the garden house since 1997.

"We are yet to find any weapons. The way the bodies have decomposed, it seems they were murdered three days ago. We will get the details from post mortem," said the officer.

The police also suspect that there could be more than one assailant.
