Drug addicts belong in jail not society: MLA Sirsa slams celebs at KJo's party

Mumbai, Aug 1: Shiromani Akali Dal MLA, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, refused to apologize for his comment, where he slammed celebrities at Karan Johar's party for taking drugs. On Karan Johar's instagram feed, a short clip was uploaded by the man himself where several A-list celebrities were spotted. The politician accused actors Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Shahid Kapoor, filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Ayan Mukerji of doing drugs at the party.

Sirsa had uploaded the video clip on his twitter handle along with the tweet, '#UDTABollywood - Fiction vs reality, watch how the high and mighty of Bollywood proudly flaunt their drugged state.' One of the celebrities from that clip was Pooja Shetty, wife of Congress leader Milind Deora. Following Sirsa's scathing comment, Deora accused Sirsa of defaming people on baseless facts and demanded an apology for the comment.

The already sensitive situation gained momentum when Sirsa replied with another tweet where he addressed the celebs as 'nashediyon'(drug addicts). Sirsa stated that he was not aware of the reason why Milind Deora's family member was in the video, but he was a strong believer of the fact that every individual present at the party was doing drugs.

Further, Sirsa said that drug addicts such as the ones in the video belong behind bars and are not to be placed on a pedestal. One of the twitteratis even pointed out to Sirsa that he should mind his own business, to which he tweeted, 'They are public figures! They are called 'stars' and they enjoy many privileges. Don't they lecture us on every issue from their verified twitter handles? So today they are answerable to every Indian for their drug-affected stoned look as visible in video'.
To make matters clear, Sirsa asked everyone from the party to take a drug test and share the reports on twitter.
