Muzaffarpur, Aug 2: On Thursday, a seventh grade student was stabbed to death by a man accused of stealing the purse of the victim's mother. The victim has been identified as Suraj Kumar.

Muzaffarpur DSP Mukul Kumar Ranjan stated, one of the men who stole the victim's mother's purse was arrested by the police after an FIR was filed against him, while the other man involved, ended up stabbing Suraj out of revenge.

The thieves belong to the same village as Suraj and his mother, which helped the mother identify the accused, so as to file a complaint. Once the FIR was registered, the police caught one of the two accused. The one who was not arrested ended up murdering Suraj brutally in his school premises in Ahiyapur.

The incident resulted in a protest by the locals against the school authorities for failing to protect the victim as he was stabbed to death in the school premises.
