First-year student of Kolkata college goes missing


Kolkata, Aug 3 (IANS) A first-year undergraduate student of St. Xavier's college Kolkata has been untraceable for nearly 24 hours after he left the college hostel, police said on Friday.

"Hrisheek Koley, 18, a resident of Hooghly's Singur went missing on Thursday. The superintendent of St. Xavier's College Hostel had lodged a complaint at the local police station realising that the BSC student is missing," a senior Kolkata Police officer said.

The Hostel Superintendent told IANS that the boy left for the college in the morning and in the evening when he did not return till late, other hostel inmates informed him.

"The 1st year BSC student was a newcomer. He joined the hostel on July 28. I immediately called up his local guardians but they knew nothing about him. Hence informed the police," he said.
