Minor shot dead following argument, juvenile accused nabbed

New Delhi, Aug 3 (IANS) A 16-year-old boy was shot dead by his friend in east Delhi's Shakarpur area, police said on Friday.

Police have apprehended the accused who is also a juvenile.

"The incident took place on Friday morning when three friends were sitting inside a property dealer's shop where the accused works. An argument broke out between the accused and the victim after which the accused pulled out a pistol and shot at the victim," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Jasmeet Singh.

Police said a PCR call was made by the owners of the neighbouring shop, meanwhile the accused remained inside the shop.

"A team reached the shop and apprehended the juvenile. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. We are yet to ascertain the reason behind the argument," said Singh.

A murder case has been registered and it was found that the victim and the accused were friends and lived in the same rented accommodation in Mandawali.

Further investigation is underway.

Its not western culture, but power in wrong hands.
If its just western culture, why dont we adopt the many good things from that culture. Guns are not as easily available in India compared to the US
There maybe guns in his house. He maybe the son or relative of a goon, politician, policeman or some VIP with a licenced gun. We dont know.
The problem here is 2 young lives have been devasted. One is dead and gone and the other has ruined his entire life ahead of him.
