Mumbai, Aug 5: On Monday, Shiv Sena branded Mehbooba Mufti as terrorist as per Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Ammendment Bill, 2019, for propagating the language of terrorism.
"Mehbooba Mufti has given warning over Article 35A that people of Kashmir should be ready for sacrifice. She said this echoing the laanguage of separatists. The home minister should not tolerate this. This is the language of terrorism," Shiv Sena commented in their newspaper 'Saamana'.
The UAPA bill gives ambiguous definition of who can be termed as terrorist. With the law being passed, the party asked home minister to apprehend Mufti. Shiv Sena also claimed that if Mufti was not sentenced to jail then she will be successful in triggering violence in Kashmir.
"Article 35A breaks Kashmir from Hindustan, by giving it a different status than other states," the party added.
At present, government has imposed Section 144 around Kashmir and mobile internet services have been suspended in different parts of the state. Further, former chief ministers, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti were placed under house arrest.
