DMRC issues red alert on network, CISF calls it routine

New Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Monday issued a red alert on its entire network and urged passengers to cooperate with security checks which might take extra time as compared to normal days.

"As advised by security agencies, a red alert has been imposed on the entire DMRC network, please allow extra time in security checks," the DMRC tweeted.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is responsible for the security of the DMRC area, claimed that the alert was a routine and is issued every year ahead of the Independence Day (August 15).
