Mangaluru, Aug 6: In the early 90’s, when the city of Mangaluru was in its initial stages of modern infrastructure and development, Dr C P Abdul Rahman and Y Razia Rahman had a dream of building a modern hospital in the city. Both were very popular at that time in the city because of their service towards the patients. After consultation with likeminded people and as an answer for public request they started their own hospital in 1995 and named it as Highland Hospital.

In the initial stage itself, Highland Hospital was the symbol of relentless pursuance towards rendering sophisticated and high quality care, at an affordable cost to the sick and the needy. The management believed that, in offering comprehensive care under one roof, setting the best practice standards in health care services, continually improving their performance and exceeding the expectations of patients and their families.

Situated in the heart of the city of Mangaluru, a vision that was started as a nursing home with 40 beds now stands strong at 120 beds, with one of the best trauma and emergency department, laminar OTs and well-equipped Intensive Care units.

Highland Hospital provides a comprehensive treatment programme for ailing persons comprising of a contravention of manual therapy, remedial exercises and modern electrotherapy equipment.

The Laboratory of Highland provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic testing, clinical and consultative services as well as to other service providers. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week.

Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Unit of the hospital provides critical life sustaining support for patients of all ages recovering from a life-threatening procedure or event. It strives to maximize efficient care and patient comfort in its facility. For this it has an experienced, interdisciplinary and dedicated team to provide exceptional service.
