Ranchi, June 14 (IANS): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha, who has resigned from all his party positions, Sunday clarified that he would remain in the party to serve the people of his constituency.
"I am very much in BJP. I will serve people of my constituency (Hazaribag) and the state (Jharkhand)," Sinha told reporters in Hazaribagh.
Pressed to comment on the reasons behind his resignation Saturday, Sinha maintained he would not say anything on that issue.
On Saturday, Sinha faxed his five-page resignation letter to BJP president Rajnath Singh, calling for fixing of responsibility for the party's defeat in the Lok Sabha elections last month.
The former finance and external affairs minister thus resigned as national vice president, national executive member and observer for party affairs in Karnataka.
