Bengaluru, Aug 6: After the 14-month-old coalition fell in Karnataka, former chief minister (CM), H D Kumaraswamy claimed that he worked as a 'slave' for the Congress during his time as a CM in the state.

Kumaraswamy, stated that he had not placed any restrictions on the functioning of the MLAs and corporation chairmen. He also agreed that his government provided more funds to the constituencies of Congress MLAs over JD(S).

"Even when MLAs used to come without taking an appointment, I met them. What previous Congress government could not achieve, I did in 14 months. I even allocated more than Rs 19,000 crore in 14 months to constituencies of Congress MLAs," he added.

The former chief minister asserted that he was hurt since no one acknowledged his efforts and work. Kumaraswamy admitted that most of the party leaders of JD(S) were unhappy when the coalition was formed with Congress. Further, he said, since the coalition was broken, his party leaders were not keen on forming the government with Congress again. Although, the Congress high command is still cordial with JD(S), Kumaraswamy believes that the future coalition will remain uncertain.
