Hyderabad traffic police create 'green corridor' for transport of live heart

Daijiworld Media Network - Hyderabad (SHP)

Hyderabad, Aug 10: On Friday, a green corridor was created by the Hyderabad traffic police for the transportation of a live heart. The organ was being moved from Care Hospital in Banjara hills to another branch of Care Hospital in Nampally.

This move from the Traffic Police helped in faster delivery of the organ. It took only 10 minutes to undertake a six km long journey. The green corridor facilitated
the completion of the journey 10-15 minutes earlier than the time it would generally take in normal traffic.

A green corridor refers to clearing out a route for an ambulance carrying harvested organs. The primary objective is to ensure the organ arrives its destination within the shortest time possible for the transplant to happen.
