Dubai: Eric D'Souza Takes over as New President of Karaval Milan

Dubai, June 17: The members of Karaval Milan, Dubai recently chose their new office bearers for the period, 2009-2011.  Eric D’Souza of Perampalli Parish, one of the  founder members of the organization and a dynamic leader, efficient organizer and an entrepreneur in Dubai, was unanimously elected as the president of Karaval Milan.  Other committee members elected are as follows:

Founder President               :  Charles Mascarenhas, Kolalgiri
President                            :  Eric D’souza, Peramaplly
Vice President                    :  Clarence Fernandes, Thottam (Nanu Marol, Thottam)
Secretary                           :  James Pius D’souza, Barkur
Joint Secretary                    :  Naveen D’souza, Kolalgiri
Treasurer                           :  Ronald Nazareth, Byndoor
Auditor                              :  Sunil Fernandes, Kota
Cultural Secretary              :  Staney D’Cunha, Kemmannu
Joint Cultural Secretary      : Prakash Baretto, Kundapur
Sports Secretary                : Glen Mendonsa, Tallur
Joint Sports Secretary        : Prakash Rebello, Basrur
Media In charge                :  Naveen Sequeira, Brahmavar
Public Relation Officer       : Wilson D’Souza, Basrur and Lawrence D’almeida, Kundapur
 
The handing over ceremony to the new office bearers was held at Shezan Restaurant in Dubai on Friday June 12. All the members along with their family members were present on the occasion. Karaval Milan’s patron St  Antony’s feast was also celebrated on  the occasion.

Te programme started with a welcome speech by Clarence Fernandes, Thottam followed by prayer, conducted by Prakash Baretto, Kundapur.  Naveen Sequeira, Brahmavar introduced all the new office bearers. Outgoing president Ronald Nazareth handed over the charge to the new president Eric D’souza. Accordingly, all the other outgoing office bearers handed over their charges to the respective incoming office bearers. A cake was cut together by all the members as a symbol of unity.
 
Outgoing President Ronald Nazareth in his address expressed his gratitude to all the members of Karval Milan for extending him full support during his tenure. New president Eric D’Souza in his speech, thanked all the members for choosing him as the president for the coming two years and requested them to provide him full support to enable him to discharge his duties affectively.
 
Rony Nazareth and his team entertained the gathering through melodious rendering of Konkani songs, interspersed with some jokes.
 
The programme was compered by Staney D’Cunha, Kemmannu. The programme concluded with a dinner.
