Bihar: Trying to shoot video on Tik TOK, three youths drown in swollen river

Bihar, Aug 10: In an unfortunate incident that happened here on Wednesday, three youths drowned in a swollen river, after they jumped into it, reportedly in an attempt to shoot video on social media app Tiktok.

Sub-inspector of Ahiyapur police station, Ravindra Kumar, said Prince Kumar, Ayushman, Piyush Kumar and Akash Kumar, all natives of Rahulnagar village jumped into swollen Budhi Gandak river near Sangam ghat in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district holding mobiles in their hands to shoot video. 

While Akash Kumar managed to swim to safety, the other three were drowned. The district administration has, meanwhile, pressed the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) divers into service to fish out the bodies. Senior SP Manoj Kumar said, “two bodies have been recovered while search of the third is under way.” 

As per Hindustan times report, many people have lost their lives in different parts of the state in floods, due to rivers breaching safety embankments.The district administration in Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga has issued advisory to the people and the local police to keep surveillance on the activities of children enjoying in flood waters or entering rivers.
