One Maoist killed in Jharkhand


Ranchi, Aug 10 (IANS): One Maoist was killed in a gun-battle with security forces at Sattaia jungle in the Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on Saturday.

According to the police, during a search operation by CRPF and state police based on information about presence of Maoists, the rebels attacked the security forces. In retaliatory fire, one Maoist was killed while 8-9 others escaped.

One Insas rifle was seized from the slain Maoist, whose identity could not be ascertained. Search is on for others.

On Friday, one Maoist was killed in the area bordering Khuti and West Singhbhum districts.
