Mumbai, Jun 18:
‘Get Gorgeous’ model Priyanka Shah was honoured with ‘Gujarat Gaurav’ award for her contribution to the fields of fashion modelling, fitness and entertainment. She received the award at a glittering function held recently at Ahmedabad.

Fitness-obsessed Priyanka Shah was also amongst the lucky few who jogged on the yet-to-be-opened Bandra - Worli Sealink in Mumbai. It was really a unique experience for the fitness freak. ‘It felt awesome. “It's not yet open for the public but only for a few selected cars and not for joggers or fitness freaks. Marathon running friends from IIT got permission and I tagged along. It made me feel very special. It didn't feel as if I was in Mumbai. It was a delightful experience,” says Priyanka.

Priyanka is also a part of the Creatives against Poverty, a collective of professionals that pools and contributes skills for social impact. It comprises of journalists, consultants, fashion industry professionals, photographers, NGO workers and entrepreneurs. “Thanks to everyone who came to our recent party at Prive, Mumbai! We raised US$ 6,135 at the event! Many thanks also to our sponsors - Prive, Shaw Wallace and Informa India. Go Creatives against Poverty!,” says Priyanka.

Priyanka was also given an award by animal activist agency PETA for displaying her love for animals, time and again. She has saved and given shelter to several pets and even saved them from imminent death.

Model Priyanka Shah makes her Tamil film debut:

‘Get Gorgeous’ ramp girl Priyanka Shah is making her debut as heroine opposite Sibiraj and Kannada actor Vishal Hegde in ‘Kalla Kadhalan’, produced by Gaurav Sharma and directed by Ramya. Tall and pretty Priyanka is Pantaloons ‘Femina Miss India Tourism 2007’ winner, Channel V's ‘Get Gorgeous’ winner, Miss India International winner, Zoom Levis Diva winner, celebrity PETA activist and the Indian captain of the ladies netball team.

Priyanka Shah, a stunning-looking former Miss India, has been cast opposite Sibiraj. Director Ramya, originally called Suresh, has written the story and screenplay for the Vijaykanth - Suriya starrer 'Periyanna', and returns to Tamil after doing a Telugu blockbuster 'Naga'. He has made a script adapting the Ramayana for his film, 'Kalla Kadhalan'.

Pretty tall (5’ 9") Priyanka, half-Maharashtrian half-Gujarati, is an engineering graduate and is all excited about taking her first baby steps in Tamil cinema. In ‘Kalla Kadhalan’, Sibiraj plays the role of Indira, while former Miss India Priyanka Shah plays Ahalya. Her husband’s role is played by a popular Kannada stage and film actor H Vishal. The film will be a take on women’s morality.

Priyanka does not mind showing skin or body if done aesthetically, but is against vulgarity. She will wear a bikini in the film, as she is cool about flaunting her body in a bikini, as she has the figure to carry it off. She has worn a swimsuit for various beauty pageants.

The film is produced by Storm Pictures and directed by Ramya. Director Ramya has taken on a portion of the epic to modernize it. The topic in question is morality concerning women, as it is dealt with in the portion involving Ahalya, Indiran and Sage Gauravar in the Balakandam of Ramayana.
