Mumbai, Aug 13: The unpaid electricity bill of Siddharth colony caused the residents to suffer powercuts, carried out by Adani Electricity Board office at Tilak Nagar.
On Monday evening, over 100 residents protested outside Adani office. They even barred officials from leaving the office premises. According to an official, the power cut is in its third week and will continue unless the residents pay the entire amount.
Over a period of 14 years, total unpaid amount is upto Rs 77 crore. One of the protesters stated that over 1,835 residents have already settled their dues. Hence, the power supply needs to be restored.
In contrary to the request of the residents, the officials claimed that unless all 2,500 pay off their bills, power supply will not be provided.
