Media representatives of Russia, China to discuss collaborations

Vladivostok (Russia), Aug 13 (IANS): Representatives of leading media outlets and industry-related organisations of Russia and China will meet here on September 3 to discuss various aspects concerning the media, including collaborations.

The discussions will take place under the framework of 5th Russia-China Media Forum to be held on the sidelines of annual Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), which will be hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the Chief Guest. IANS will be the media partner at the EEF.

Participants will include representatives from the two countries' leading media outlets and companies, internet platforms, and other industry-related organisations, according to a press statement issued on Tuesday.

The Russian delegation will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Chief of the Government Staff Konstantin Chuychenko.

Forum participants will discuss issues surrounding media interaction, such as media collaboration in the digital environment, content sharing, creation of joint information products, professional standards, and the protection of personal data in the new media era, the press release said.

Russian-Chinese media forums are traditionally held on the sidelines of major international events.

In 2017, the 3rd Russia-China Media Forum was held in Moscow as part of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the Russian Federation.

In 2018, the 4th Media Forum was held in Shanghai as part of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's visit to China.

The 5th Eastern Economic Forum will be taking place on 4-6 September in Vladivostok.

The EEF is held annually with the objective of facilitating accelerated development of the Russian Far East's economy and expanding international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region in accordance with the Executive order of the President of the Russian Federation. This year, it will be held in Vladivostok from September 4-6.
