Street vendor donates warehouse full of clothes to flood victims

Kochi, Aug 13: A street vendor who sells garments on Kochi’s Broadway Market has voluntarily donated his fresh stock of clothes to the flood affected victims. This gesture has been recorded live on Facebook and has since been circulated widely, drawing a lot of positive reaction towards the vendor, Noushad.

The entire stock of clothes was kept in his warehouse for the festive sale. Noushad asked the relief group volunteer, theatre-film actor Rajesh Sharma to follow him to the warehouse.

Volunteers at the flood-relief camps in Wayanad were looking for some clothes and Naushad, a resident of Malippuram near Vypin in Kerala, guided the group to his warehouse and filled gunny bags full of fresh clothes to donate.

Rajesh Sharma was the one to record Noushad’s noble gesture, and since it was a live recording he can be heard saying, "I cannot believe it, this man led us here to his warehouse and he is giving us almost everything including clothes that came with price-tags. This is how he is celebrating his Eid,"

"The people of Kerala are indebted to you," Sharma said expressing gratitude to Noushad.

I cannot imagine the generosity of the man and his compassion to the suffering. He will be rewarded by God. Some force people to chant mantra, others give in charity in total silence.
