Mangalore: ‘Rock-n -Roll’ Runner-up Vindya Celebrates Triumph with Team

Mangalore, Jun 19: The girl had set out a day to celebrate her success at reaching the runner up position in the ‘Rock n Roll’ reality show of Zee Kannada television channel. Vindya and her team members spent the day distributing sweets, gratefully acknowledging greetings, blessings and best wishes from their dear ones and well wishers. The team seemed to have forgotten the tribulations and hurdles they came across before reaching the coveted goal, by getting immersed in an environment charged with blissful elation.
Alacrity and jubilation rent the air at J B Hall, Bejai, where the celebration was held on Thursday June 18. Vindya and her team had organized the celebrations to share their joy at winning the runner up award in ‘Rock n Roll’ television programme of Zee Kannada television channel.
Vindya led the team of five members. She is a student of Besant School in the city, studying in the third standard and is a resident of Anegundi in Bejai here.
For Shekhar, it was a day to realize the potential of his dear daughter Vindya and enjoy her adoration by the crowd. He looked at happily as his efforts to encourage his daughter to pursue her activity of interest, had borne fruits at the state level for the first time. He hastened to add that he can only extend support and encourage to his daughter to excel in the field of her choice. “I do not know how to dance. I can only egg her on. She puts in hard work. When her efforts get noticed, we feel proud of her,” he said.
Shekhar, a shop keeper in the city, has rich dreams for his daughter. He wants his daughter to be recognized for the rich talent she possesses. At the same time, he is careful to ensure that his encouragement does not exert any pressure on his young daughter. Vindya’s mother Vijaya, a house wife, equally deserves to bathe in her daughter’s success, as she has always played a supporting role by attending to her needs. Vindya’s elder brother also basked in the success of his sister.
Jagadeesh, uncle of Vindya, said that Vindya’s parents had spent lacs of rupees towards providing dance lessons and attending to other requirements. Their sacrifice and unstinted support have borne fruits by way of this joyous celebration. The second place is always a stepping stone for annexing the top position. “She has won the second place at the state level and we hope, she will win the first place at the national level,” he added.
Vindya has won a number of prizes in various programmes organized in the district and outside.
In the celebration, her dance teachers Satheesh Bajal, Praveen, Pramod and Yatheesh from Trimurthy Cultural Association, who deserved recognition for their efforts, were accorded a special felicitation. TV journalist Agnel Rodrigues and former deputy mayor Lancelot pinto were the chief guests of the occasion. They wished her a bright future. A team from Zee Kannada TV channel was also present to record the celebrations.
The final competition of the reality show in which Vindya and her team were awarded with the runner-up prize, will be telecast in Zee Kannada television channel on Wednesday June 24, at 9 -10 pm.
