Centre's next step should be to unite 'enslaved Kashmir': VHP

Kolkata, Aug 14 (IANS): Joint General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Surendra Jain on Wednesday said abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution should have happened "a long time ago" and claimed that the next step of the centre should be to unite the "enslaved Kashmir" (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) with the Indian mainland besides implementing the Uniform Civil Court.

Jain said Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, had so far isolated the Valley from the rest of the nation, Jain said some political parties, including Congress, were desperately trying to inflict unrest and disturb peace in Kashmir.

"Not just the VHP but the entire world is of the opinion that the abrogation of Article 370 should have happened a long time back. Article 370 and 35A were not used to unite Kashmir but to divide it," Jain said on the sidelines of the launching event of VHP's fortnightly magazine 'Hindu Vishwa' here.

The senior VHP leader said Jammu and Kashmir is slowly returning to normalcy after the scrapping of article 370 last week and warned that a section of political outfits and media are spreading false news about clashes and riots in order to hide the real situation of the Valley from the world.

Good to see article 370 & 35A has been shown its doors. We have suffered a lot each day by giving enough provisions.
Now time has come to rise above all political level and think of one India - One Nation - One rule - same laws n order for all.
But the question is : Can our present govt do it ably and efficiently.

POK enslved by Pakistan, and now IOK enslaved by India. There is no diff between two enemy nations on treatment of Kashmiris. Indian current treatment worst than POK enslavement. Pakistan has not locked up elected leaders and imposed military police deployment and locked up all Kashmiris like India has done. India is a biggest human rights violator.

7049Nepal is no more a Hindu state since 2007 and the anti-Hindus played a great role to achieve this. Do some research before commenting.

First you release locked political party leaders and have free and fair assembly elections without EVMs and end president's rule in Indian Kashmir and see who gets the majority. Then it will be as good as article 370 has been invoked. To unite POK is far cry now. Not in your time.

The Kashmir valley is under the military siege with the complete blockade, no internet connection from last eight days.

How will 'enslaved Kashmir' will be united who are not consulted before revoking Article 370?

The VHP argument is like marrying a couple without their consent. How long the marriage will last if the love is not at heart?
