Entire staff of women's police station in UP sent to lines


Muzaffarnagar, Aug 15 (IANS): The entire women's police station in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar has been sent to lines, following allegations of corruption and irregularities.

Muzaffarnagar Senior Superitendent of Police (SSP) Abhishek Yadav said that he had been receiving complaints regarding the women police officials of the police station and had set up team to probe into the matter.

"The probe found the women police personnel guilty of being involved in corrupt practices and neglecting duties. All the 50 women police personnel have been sent to lines and departmental action is being initiated against them," he said.

The probe into the allegations had been conducted by SP City Satpal Antil.

A further probe into allegations against individuals will be held; after which suitable action against the guilty will be initiated.
