Mangaluru: Independence Day celebrated at Expert PU College Kodialbail

Mangaluru, Aug 15: “Shape your career by hard work and sacrifice,” said Manohar Prasad, assistant editor, Udayavani National Daily Newspaper, chief guest of the 73rd Independence Day celebration at Expert PU College, Kodialbail, here. The celebration was held at Shree Bhagavati temple premises, Kodialbail in the city.

The chief guest recalled the role and contribution of the leaders of Dakshina Kannada toward the struggle for independence. He said that we need to respect and honour the freedom fighters because of who we are independent today. Manohar Prasad also said that love toward our nation will be inculcated only through an educational institution and so they must all understand the meaning and importance of real independence as well as spread the same message to everyone. He added that students need to be the nation builders.



Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Suresh Pai, trustee of Expert Educational & Charitable Foundation®, Mangaluru, Prof Ramachandra Bhat, principal, Expert PU College, Kodialbail, Ankush N Nayak, Director of Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions, Mangaluru, Deepika A Nayak, Madhava Jeppupatna, trustee of Bhagavati Temple, Kodialbail, Mangaluru and Yogaratna Gopalakrishna Delampady were the dignitaries present on the dais.

The National flag was hoisted by the chief guest and then the cultural programme followed.

Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Educational & Charitable Foundation®, Mangaluru, administered the oath of office to the newly elected members of the student council and delivered a message to the office bearers to be good leaders. She told them to develop the quality of leadership and said that everything is pivoted toward leadership. In the present scenario we need good leaders to have a disciplined nation and institution. The Indian flag is a combination of four colors, in which we forget the fourth color blue of Ashoka Chakra without which the Indian flag is incomplete; in the same way students are nation builders without who an institution is incomplete.

Various competitions were held in connection with Independence Day and the prizes were distributed on this occasion.
