Mangaluru: Independence Day at St Ann’s PU College observed with great fervour

Mangaluru, Aug 15: St Ann’s PU College celebrated 73rd Independence Day on August 15 with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.

A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the St Ann’s PU College grounds by the staff and students of St Ann’s TTI.

Sr Shamitha AC, provincial superior was the chief guest. She was accompanied by Sr Maria Kripa AC, asst provincial superior and Sr Maria Shubha AC, principal of St Ann’s TTI.

All the staff and students of the campus institutions along with management and the sisters of the convent were present for the ceremony.



After the formal ceremony, the students of I PUC (Science) presented a cultural programme which began with a prayer service followed by a welcome dance at the college auditorium. A mime show was presented showing iconic moments of the struggles and achievements of our beloved nation. Beautiful medley of patriotic songs and dances were performed by the students which made the audience emotional as well as proud to be Indians.

The principal in her message praised and motivated the students to become good leaders of India. She reminded the students of their duties toward our great nation.

In her conclusion she greeted everyone a Happy Independence Day.

The programme was compered by Nahla Farooqui and Kathija Fahika. Vote of thanks was proposed by Rukiyath Hana.
