Imran Khan attacks 'fascist, Hindu supremacist Modi govt'

Islamabad, Aug 18 (IANS): Defeated in his bid to get the UNSC or the world leaders to censure India over Kashmir, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday took to Twitter to urge the world to "seriously consider the safety and security of India's nuclear arsenal in the control of the fascist, racist Hindu Supremacist Modi Government".

As Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Sunday that henceforth, talks with Islamabad would only be on Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), reiterating Home Minister Amit Shah's statement that PoK and Aksai Chin are part of Kashmir, the Pakistan Prime Minister, in a series of tweets, alleged that Muslims in India were being disenfranchised and "RSS goons were on the rampage".

Pakistan has termed as an "act of annexation", India's abrogation of Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and division of the state into two Union Territories -- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

Pakistan has reached out to all the world leaders to get them to censure India but failed, barring support from all-weather ally China. It even got the UNSC to discuss it in a closed-door meeting on Friday, but there too, barring China, the other Permanent 5 countries backed India's development agenda in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a series of tweets, Imran repeated what he has been stating for the past two weeks: "India has been captured, as Germany had been captured by Nazis, by a fascist, racist Hindu Supremacist ideology & leadership. This threatens 9 million Kashmiris under siege in IOK for over 2 weeks which should have sent alarm bells ringing across the world with UN Observers being sent there.

"And the threat also extends to Pakistan, the minorities in India & in fact the very fabric of Nehru & Gandhi's India. One can simply Google to understand the link between the Nazi ideology & ethnic cleansing & genocide ideology of the RSS-BJP Founding Fathers.

"Already 4 million Indian Muslims face detention camps & cancellation of citizenship. World must take note as this genie is out of the bottle & the doctrine of hate & genocide, with RSS goons on the rampage, will spread unless the international community acts now to stop it.

"The World must also seriously consider the safety & security of India's nuclear arsenal in the control of the fascist, racist Hindu Supremacist Modi Govt. This is an issue that impacts not just the region but the world."

On Friday, Rajnath Singh had said that India may rethink on its no first use nuclear policy if the need arises.

Singh had said that the future "circumstances" would determine what would happen to India's "no first use" policy of nuclear weapons, which Pakistan has criticised as "highly unfortunate".

Khan's tweets came as the administration in Jammu and Kashmir has eased the lockdown, with landlines functioning and offices reopened. Schools and colleges are to resume on Monday, in an indication of normalcy returning to Kashmir valley.

Finally playing the religion card after failing to win sympathy at the UN. Where was your fascist and racist remark when thousands were driven out of their homes in Kashmir? You need not worry about minorities in India. They are much better off than minorities in your country.

Kashmiris are Kashmiris. Art 370 gave them self determination and gave the right to decide to be Indian or not. But Modi relinquished their rights underhandedly.
