Mumbai, Aug 20: Unoccupied shops and houses received inflated electricity bills.
After Adani, MSEDCL consumers are now complaining over the hefty power bills.
One of the consumers who has vacated her old house claimed that she received a bill of Rs 2,400 in August. The consumer stated that she never occupied her old house from May-June. Another resident from Kalamboli grew upset on receiving a bill of Rs 42,000 for August of a shop closed four months ago.
An MSEDCL official associated the inflated bills to someone tampering with electricity by using an unauthorised connection. The official asked the unhappy consumers to submit a written complaint to solve their issues.
"If there is an anomaly, MSEDCL will issue a fresh bill, the official assured. Any excess amount will be adjusted in future bills.
