Visakhapatnam, Aug 20: A case is registered against a co-operative bank in Noida in gold mortgage case. The bank allegedly returned artificial ornaments to a customer who took a loan by pledging real gold jewellery.

A written complaint against cluster head of Shivalik Mercantile Co-operative Bank, Noida, is submitted by the victim. ACP Vineet Jaiswal asserts the involvement of three bank employees in the replacement of the jewellery.

The victim mortgaged the one-kilo gold jewellery in a sealed packet and placed it in the locker. Once the customer paid off the loan he took back his jewellery only to find the seal broken and the jewellery artificial.

An investigation is underway against the bank.
