New Delhi, Aug 21: Supporting P Chidambaram, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra lashed out the central government saying Chidambaram is being targeted for speaking the truth and exposing the government.

Priyanka tweeted “An extremely qualified and respected member of the Rajya Sabha, @PChidambaram_IN ji has served our nation with loyalty for decades including as Finance Minister & Home Minister. He unhesitatingly speaks truth to power and exposes the failures of this government.”

After the Delhi High Court refused to give protection from arrest in the INX Media case, former Union finance minister P Chidambaram is on the run and CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) are on the lookout for the Congress leader.

Senior lawyer and Congress leader Salman Khurshid also said the action is extremely unfair on being asked 'how do you see the CBI action'.

    Since 2014, from the time chaiwala and daku have attained powerful position in Central politics, they are just attacking and threatening the powerful leaders of the opposition using the investigating agencies and even the judiciary.
    The country is surely marching towards fascism. God save the oldest on earth (as propagated by the majority) sanatana country from these kind of goons.

    I totally disagree with Priyanka. Yes, Chidambaram is a very qualified person with a lot of experience in managing the finance of our country and his intelligence levels are something to be admired. However, if he is found guilty of misusing his powers for his personal benefits, no mercy should be shown to him irrespective of his social status. He must be treated like a criminal and must not be provided any special favours in jail. I look forward to the day he is put behind bars, should his crime be established.
    It is another matter that had Chidambaram been the Finance Minister, our country would not have seen the dark days it is going through these days. On account of the faulty policies of Modi, people in this country are suffering. Jobs have dried up, people are losing their jobs, showrooms are being shut and we are staring at a bleak future. Parle Products, a company making biscuits is looking at slashing 8000 to 10000 jobs. Just now I heard on TV that although the government is aware of the problem, no action whatsoever is being taken to alleviate the condition. What is wrong with this insensitive government? Was this government voted for the benefit of the people or for making the people suffer.
