Bahrain: Konkan Singers’ New Committee Assumes Charge

Bahrain, Jun 27: The induction ceremony of the Executive Committee of Konkan Singers Club Bahrain along with the Prince and Princess contest was held on Thursday June 26, 2009 at Papillon Restaurant here.

The induction ceremony started at 9.00 pm with the president Henry D’Almeida welcoming the members and the guests.  He appealed the members to support the club with active participation in the activities and programmes.  He introduced the new Executive Committee members for the year 2009.

The Executive Committee of Konkan Singers Club for the year 2009 as follows:

Treasurer:                                     Charles D’Mello

Asst. Entertainment Secratary:       Leo Fernandes
Sports Secretary:                           Vincent Durado
Asst. Sports Secretary:                   Peter D’costa

The Prince & Princess Contest comprised of 2 age groups, 4 to 8 years and 8 to 12 years.
In the age group of 4 to 8 years Denver Dias won the “Prince” crown and Santrupthi S. Rao as “Princess”.  In the age group of 8 to 12 years Karan Khatri was the winner of “Prince” crown while Riyana D’Souza won the “Princess” title.

The Entertainment secretary Oswald D’Souza compered the programme.  Sumptuous dinner was served to all to conclude the programme.
