Bhopal, Aug 26: Bhopal BJP MP Sadhvi Pragya has blamed the opposition for the deaths of top leaders in the party. She has alleged that the opposition is using “marak shakti” (evil energy) and is the reason former union ministers Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj died.
Pragya made the controversial statement at a condolence meeting for Jaitley and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Babulal Gaur at state BJP office. "Once a Maharaj ji told me that bad times are upon us and opposition is up to something using some 'marak shakti' against BJP. I later forgot what he said but now when I see our top leaders leaving us one by one, I am forced to think, wasn't Maharaj ji right?"she was quoted saying.
BJP in the last one and a half year have lost key leaders such as union minister Ananth Kumar, Goa CM Manohar Parrikar and former PM Atal Bihari Bihari Vajpayee. While Ananth Kumar and Parrikar died due to cancer, Vajpayee died after suffering prolonged illness. The sudden death of Sushma Swaraj who suffered a cardiac arrest came as a shocker to all. Recently, Jaitley who suffered health issues passed away.
Sadhvi Pragya is known for making controversial statements. She was severely criticized for calling Nathuram Godse, who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi a patriot. She had also said her “curse” was the reason ATS chief Hemant Karkare was killed.
