New Delhi, Aug 26: Congress is being heavily trolled on social media, as it got a congratulatory tweet wrong. As the nation celebrates PV Sindhu’s achievement on becoming the first Indian to win a BWF World Badminton Championship, Congress took to twitter to laud the sports star.
The Congress tweet read, “Congratulations to @Pvsindhu1 on becoming the first Indian to win the BWF World Championships gold medal. You have made your nation proud.”
However, the congratulatory tweet backfired, as twitterati was quick to notice that Congress used ‘your’ nation instead of ‘our’ nation. People on twitter pointed out that either Congress does not consider P V Sindhu as part of the nation or does not consider itself as a part of the nation.
“Which nation you belong to?” a twitter user questioned Congress while another user wrote, “You have made "YOUR" nation proud. Congress has finally spoken on behalf of the countries it represents: - 50% Italy, 50% Pakistan”
Very soon many twitter users joined and started trolling the political party.
