PG Department of Economics Planning Forum inaugurated at SPC Puttur

Puttur, Aug 27: The inaugural function of Planning Forum of the Post Graduate Department of Economics of St Philomena College here, was held on August 22 at the PG auditorium.

The chairman of the Centre for PG studies and Research, Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro inaugurated the forum and said, "The concept of Kriya and the concept of Karma are two important aspects of our life. Kriya refers to our routine activity, whereas karma refers to extra work. The extra work that we do in our life always matters much."

The former principal of NMC Sullia, Dr B Prabhakara Shishila participated as chief guest. He said, "Planning is the coordination of activities. There should be equilibrium between consumption and production. Planning is essential in every aspect of human life. Unfortunately, our Prime Minister has dissolved the Planning Commission of India."



The principal, Prof Leo Noronha presided over the programme. He said, "There is no success unless there is a proper plan. Absence of proper population plan is the factor responsible for India’s population explosion. When we plan our activities systematically, great things can definitely happen."

The coordinator of the department Prof Dinakara Rao graced the occasion. The convenor of the Planning Forum, Sandhya H introduced the new office bearers of the Planning Forum.

The faculties of the department, Pradeep K S and B T Sowmya coordinated the programme.

Jayalaxmi and team presented a prayer song. The president of the Planning Forum, Amrutha K welcomed the gathering. The joint secretary, Shishmitha introduced the guests. The secretary, Shubha K proposed the vote of thanks. Shwetha Kumari S compered the programme.
