Kolkata, Aug 27: Recipient of the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize for humanitarian work, the friend of the poor and popularly known as Saint of the Gutters, to who the parish of St Teresa of Kolkata, Rajiv Nagar, Mysuru is dedicated, on August 25 celebrated its annual feast with great religious fervour and devotion.
The concelebrated festive mass was presided over by Msgr Leslie Moras, former principal of St Philomena’s Autonomous College and Episcopal vicar for Education and Medical Mission, diocese of Mysuru.
17 priests, a number of religious men and women and more than 1000 people participated in the celebration.









In his message, the main celebrant described Saint Mother Teresa as a shining example of selfless love and humanity and exhorted the faithful to emulate her exemplary life.
During the car procession that followed the mass, special prayers were offered for the people affected by the recent floods. Offerings and contributions made during the holy mass were sent to the families affected by the floods.
