DU students to hold meet on Savarkar, Bhagat Singh


New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS): A group from student organisations in Delhi University is going to organise a public meeting on RSS ideologue Veer Savarkar and freedom fighter Bhagat Singh at North Campus on Wednesday.

Student organisations, including SFI, Pinjra Tod and Parivartankami Chhatra Sanghtan (PACHHAS), have invited people at Gate number 4 of the Arts Faculty, to have a discussion on 'Hindutva Kiran Savarkar or Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh'.

Last Saturday the campus was astir over the removal of busts of Veer Savarkar, Bhagat Singh and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose from outside the Arts Faculty of Delhi University's North Campus.

Among those participating in the public meeting are historian and author Irfan Habib and Bhagat Singh's nephew Jagmohan Singh.
