New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS): Indian naval ship Tarkash will undertake a passage exercise at sea with ships of the Senegalese Navy on Friday to enhance interoperability between both navies.
The exercise will be undertaken after INS Tarkash makes a port call at Dakar in Senegal on Wednesday as part of the Indian Navy's overseas deployment to Africa, Europe and Russia. The ship is on a three-day visit to the west African nation.
Officials said the exercise will enhance communications and inter-operability between the two navies.
INS Tarkash belongs to the Indian Navy's western fleet and is one of the most potent frontline frigates equipped with a versatile range of weapons and sensors.
According to Navy officials, various dignitaries and government officials of Senegal are set to visit the ship during the three-day visit.
The Indian Navy has planned professional interactions with the Senegalese counterparts in order to further enhance co-operation between the two countries during which best practices in the two countries will be exchanged.
