New Delhi, Aug 28 : As part of mission to upgrade women hygiene parameters in the country, Jan Aushadhi Kendras has started selling biodegradable sanitary napkins at just ?1 per piece from ?2.50 earlier.
The sanitary napkins named ‘Suvidha’ are available in a pack of four at the subsidised price in designated centres across the country.

Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers D V Sadananda Gowda said that this is one of the greatest achievements that has been done by the Prime Minister Modi for the poor people across the country as he assured in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections that that within 100 days poor women of the country will be provided sanitary napkins at one rupee.
During an interview with PTI agency, Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya, while appreciating the key initiative of Modi government, said “the brand name Suvidha will be available at 5,500 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country and 2.2 crore sanitary napkins have been already sold.
Jan Aushadhi stores can be located by using Jan Aushadhi Sugam Mobile App launched by the government.
