Man slaps woman at Gurugram toll plaza, arrested


Gurugram, Aug 29 (IANS): A woman employee at Kherki Daula toll plaza was thrashed by a commuter when she asked him to pay the toll money on Thursday morning. The accused identified as Rahul (23), a resident of Shikohpur village, was arrested by the Gururgram police within hours of the incident.

The CCTV footage at the toll plaza which went viral on social media shows the woman standing inside the toll plaza and a man peering out of his Alto car screaming. Within seconds, the man slaps the woman who also hits back. People present at the toll plaza tried to intervene to sort it out.

As per the Gurugram police, a call about a quarrel was received at Kherki toll plaza after which a team of police officers was sent to the location. "The woman in her complaint alleged that she was deployed at booth number 11. Around 10:45 a.m. an Alto car approached the toll plaza and she asked the man in the the driver seat to pay the toll amount.

"The man refused and asked her to let him go without the payment. Later he started abusing her and even threatened to kill her," said Gurugram police spokesperson.

A case under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 294 (obscene acts or words) and 506 (criminal intimidation) was registered at Kherki Daula police station. The car was seized by the police and the accused was sent to judicial custody.
