Ration delivered to elderly, helpless people's homes

Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh), Aug 30 (IANS): In an act of kindness, a ration distributor in Madhya Pradesh has been delivering goods to elderly and helpless people's houses.

Mahadev Varade delivers ration to those cardholders' houses in Balaghat district who are unable to come to the shop.

Taking inspiration from this unique initiative, District Magistrate Deepak Arya has decided to implement this in the entire district.

Varade, a salesman at the ration shop in ward no. 1, said that around 650 ration cardholders are enrolled to take items like kerosene, sugar, and grains from the shop.

He said: "When I get to know about a cardholder's illness or inability to come to get ration, I myself take the POS machine to that person's house with the items."

One such customer, Munga Bai Shende, is the only cardholder in her family but due to injury in her leg, she is unable to walk. In this situation, the ration is delivered to her home.

She is very happy with such a facility and hopes it will continue.

Another customer, Lalita Bai Ganveer is unable to go to the shop to get ration due to old age, but now she gets it at home, thanks to Varade's efforts.

Like these two, there are several other such customers to whom Varade supplies ration at home.
