CP Delhi inaugurates DCP Outer North office


New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS): Delhi Commissioner of Police (CP), Amulya Patnaik on Friday inaugurated the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Outer North office complex at National Capital's Samaipur Badli police station.

The CP along with other senior officials of Delhi Police also launched mobile picket van on the occasion.

Delhi Police Outer North district was carved out of North-West and Rohini districts in January this year.

According to Anil Mittal, the Additional Public Relation Officer (APRO) of Delhi Police, the new complex will house english offices, visitors lounge and a conference hall with all modern facilities.

The commissioner said that the purpose of establishing Outer-North district was to enhance police strength and visibility in this strategically significant area.

He appreciated public cooperation through Prahari, Police Mitra and other community policing initiatives, which work as force multipliers.

He further underlined that the district is assuming significance with growing industrial areas and emerging educational institutions.

DCP, Outer-North gave a detailed presentation on functioning and aspects of policing in the district.

"Mobile Picketing Van was also launched on this occasion. This vehicle is equipped with barricades, anti-terrorist, anti-riot gears and automated equipment. It will be useful in checking criminal activities with element of surprise, considering wide range of the district with expanded rural area," said the APRO.
