Mangaluru, Aug 31: Team SITE racing, an exclusive E–vehicle racing student team of department of Automobile and Electrical Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT), here, participated in a national level FMAE BAJA season 2.

The event was held in Hyderabad from August 23 to 27.

The team of 27 students won the runner up position in static and dynamic events.

FMAE – BAJA is a national level electric race vehicle completion organised by Fraternity of Mechanical and Automobile Engineers. The team, SITE racing is the only team participating in this event from Karnataka since the last two years and had the credit of winning Rs 1 lac for overall team performance last year in SAE E -BAJA.

The team was guided by Jerome Anthony and Amit Kumar H, faculty advisors of Automobile department.

The head of the department Dr Ramakrishna N Hedge, principal, Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D and management of Srinivas Institute of Technology congratulated the students for their extraordinary achievement.
