Mangaluru; Live telecast of Fit India Campaign screened at MSNM Besant Institute of PG Studies

Mangaluru, Aug 31: Manel Srinivas Nayak Memorial Besant Institute of PG Studies in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra, here, arranged a live telecast of the launching ceremony Nationwide 'Fit India Campaign' and the address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 29 at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.

The live screening of the programme took place at the campus at Besant Vidya Kendra, Bondel, here.

The programme for launch of nationwide 'Fit India Campaign' coincided with national Sports Day celebration (birthday of Major Dhyan Chand) and its objective is to inculcate physical activity/sports in the daily life of the citizens.



In his message, the Prime Minister stressed on need for exercise and keeping our body fit physically and mentally for the wellbeing of the individual, family and society. He suggested physical exercises continuously and mentioned there is no elevator to success; one has to take the stairs.

The programme began with a prayer by Soujanya followed by a welcome address by Usha Mogra, assistant professor. Raghuveer, district youth coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Mangaluru addressed the gathering and administered the fitness pledge to the students and staff. He encouraged them to participate in more activities in the social sphere.

Dr Vishnu Prasanna K N, dean, MSNM Besant Institute of PG Studies introduced the campaign and highlighted the need for exercise.

Vikas, taluk youth coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra and Prajwal were present.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Anusha of II MBA. The programme was attended by students of II MBA, faculty, staff of MSNM Besant Institute of PG Studies and volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra.
