London, Aug 31 (IANS): Manchester United continued its Premier League winless streak for the third game in a row, after being held to a 1-1 draw against Southampton on Saturday.
Rising talent Daniel James gave United an early lead, which was cancelled with a second-half equalizer by Jannik Vestergaard. James, 21, opened the scoring just 10 minutes into play with an outstanding strike off a pass from Scott McTominay, reports Efe news.
During his four matches at the top-flight league this season, James scored three goals out of as many shots, according to the PL website.
In the 58th minute, Danish defender Vestergaard headed the ball home to draw level, scoring his first PL goal.
Untied's start was promising, with summer signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka near to doubling the visitor's lead, while James got another chance to score again.
Spaniard Juan Mata was given his first start of the season with the Red Devils, and rewarded it with a good link in attacking play that lacked the needed accuracy in front of the net.
