Puttur, Aug 31: The Post Graduate department of Economics of St Philomena College, Puttur organised a guest lecture on the topic ‘Major Issues of the Karnataka Economy’ on August 22 at the PG auditorium.
Former principal of Nehru Memorial College Sullia Dr B Prabhakara Shishila was the resource person. In his presentation, he has critically analyzed the various issues of Karnataka Economy like regional imbalance, improper land use, water problem, ecological imbalance, Centre’s bias etc. He has also expressed his strong dissatisfaction about the inactive nature of the representatives of the people.
He said that every citizen must have democratic way of thinking. Our administrative system must be free from corruption and favoritism. In order to achieve a higher level of economic development, we need to utilize the available resources in an optimum manner.
The coordinator of the department Prof Dinakara Rao, convenor of the Planning Forum, Sandhya H and assistant professor Pradeep K S were present on this occasion.
