'It' maker Andy Muschietti to direct 'The Flash'

Los Angeles, Sep 2 (IANS): After directing the two films of the "It" franchise, Andy Muschietti is set to explore the superhero realm. He will direct the Ezra Miller-starrer "The Flash".

In an interview with "Fandago", the filmmaker, who has carved his space as a horror filmmaker with "Mama" and "It", said that he will be making the film on the DC superhero, reports "aceshowbiz.com".

Asked if the superhero movie will come with horror elements similar to the "It" movies, he said: "An element of horror? I don't think so."

He teased what to expect from "The Flash" movie.

"What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it. The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama (of it). It's going to be fun, too. I can't promise that there will be any horror (elements in it), really, but it's a beautiful human story," he said.

"The Flash" movie has been long in development with multiple directors being attached, but then leaving the project. Recently, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein departed the movie over creative differences.
