Mangaluru: ‘Book Fair’ held at Milagres College

Mangaluru, Sep 3: Library Association in collaboration with Bharath Book Mark Pvt.Ltd organized one day ‘Book Fair’ on August 29 in the college auditorium.

The chief guest for the day was Elveera Lasrado, principal Milagres CBSE School. Other dignitaries on the dais were Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal Milagres College, Alwyn Rosaio and Prof Lourdusamy, academic advisor.

The chief guest inaugurated the Book Fair 2019. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest said, “We need to read books and experience them. A book gives us knowledge. Book is also like our best friend. But students these days do not read books, instead they play games in thier phones, watch tv and use other electronic gadgets. E-books and internet is a great source of information but these resourse for sure cant replace library and books. A library is important part of students life. Hence to make use of the library.

“Student should use the opportunity and read books as we do not have to pay for opportunity,” she said. She concluded by saying that reading books will enrich one self.

Principal Fr Michael Santhumayor, in his presidential message said that students should make use of the library and also take initiative in writing book reviews.

Around 1,000 books were exhibited. Students of Milagres CBSE School, and Degree College visited the book fair and benefited from the same.
