Mangaluru: Srinivas Institute to celebrate grand Thiruvonam 2K19 on Sep 6

Mangaluru, Sep 4: Onam is a traditional festival of Kerala celebrated in order to welcome King Mahabali who visits his people yearly according to myth. The festival also imparts the message of equality, prosperity and happiness.

Srinivas College of Hotel Management and Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism are celebrating Thiruvonam 2K19 in its traditional manner as it used to celebrate in the past 14 years. The highlight of the celebration is Onam Sadhya, traditional meals prepared by young budding chefs of the college under guidance of the faculty. Other attractions of the event are Shingarimelam, Pookalam, cultural programmes etc. The event will be conducted on September 6 from 12 pm onwards at Srinivas University city campus, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru.

The college began its Onam celebration for the year by conducting an intercollegiate flower carpet competition 'Pookalam 2K19' on September 4 at Srinivas University city campus, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru. The prizes for the winners will be distributed on September 6.

Planning and organising the event is done by the student council members of Srinivas College of Hotel Management & Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism.
