Soccer fan survives 40-ft fall in Brazil stadium


Sao Paulo, Sep 4 (IANS): While attempting to climb on the railing of the stadium's upper deck, a 23-year-old man slipped and fell from a height of 40 feet on two people on the ground level, one of whom was a 13-year-old girl.

The incident happened on Saturday at the Estadio Cicero Pompeu de Toledo Stadium in Brazil where Sao Paulo and Gremio were facing each other in a Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.

The man was later identified as Lago de Melo Rios. Despite the fall, he escaped death as he was quickly rushed to a hospital. Surprisingly, the 13-year-old girl also emerged unscathed from the incident.
