Mangaluru: Ganesha Chaturthi celebrated at Expert PU College, Valachil

Mangaluru, Sep 5: On auspicious occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, a grand function was held at the Ganesha shrine and at the cultural centre of Expert PU College in Valachil, Mangaluru.

The chants of ‘Ganapathi Bappa Morya’ reverberated all over as the students gathered for the Ganapathi pooja at the temple premises in the college. The shrine in the campus was decorated uniquely. The rituals of worship were done with Vedic verses and hymns ceremoniously.

Addressing the students, Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal conveyed the blessings and good wishes of the management on the occasion. He said that rich Indian culture manifests through celebration of festivals of various faiths and the students need to strengthen the unity and diversity of our nation by being a part of it. He also said that we have to celebrate festivals without hurting the sentiments of others.



 

A variety of cultural extravaganza by students was the part the programme. I PUC students Kadambari and Anirudh addressed the gathering. Ananya and Amogh compered the programme.

Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal, Rakshith Shetty, programme director, were present on the occasion.

The celebrations concluded with sumptuous feast served in banana leaf, with traditional items.
