Moodbidri: Three day student employability programme inaugurated at MITE

Moodbidri, Sep 6: A three day student employability programme on 'Innovations and Incubations: Ideation to Realization (IIIR-2019)' was inaugurated at Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering (MITE), here on September 6.

The workshop is sponsored by TEQIP 1.3, Govt of India and is organised from September 6 to September 8. It was inaugurated by Socrates K, deputy director, MSME, Mangaluru division. Dr Divakara Shetty S, dean (academics) presided over the function.

The main objective is to provide awareness and build entrepreneurial expertise through 'Innovations and Incubation: From Ideation to Realization' to pursue dreams and to gain economic, technical and entrepreneurial expertise in the chosen field. It aims to develop lateral thinking and innovation skills for societal and business prospective. This programme is a complete journey of innovative ideas, its nurturing, prototyping, product, IPR, business plan and financial assistance by state and central government and private agencies.

In his inaugural speech, Socrates K emphasized the importance of student employability programme in Engineering and applauded the programme as it is designed to nurture the ideas of the budding innovators toward reality. In his presidential address, Divakara Shetty S mentioned about the importance of such programmes as they lead to scientific dissemination of knowledge to fulfill the ideas.

Dr M S Nagananda, programme coordinator presented the details of the three day workshop. Dr Vinayambika S Bhat, head, department of ECE welcomed the gathering. Prof Sathisha, dean (examination), proposed the vote of thanks.
