Moodbidri: Dr Kishore Brahma delivers talk at MITE

Moodbidri, Sep 6: Aeronautical Union of Rising Aviators (AURA) of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering on September 5 inaugurated the activities of the year 2019-20.

Dr Kishore Brahma, former scientist at National Aerospace Laboratory (NAL) and consultant at P3 Consulting Private Limited Bengaluru inaugurated the event. Speaking to the students, Dr Brahma said, one can achieve heights with perseverance, determination and dedication. Aeronautical Engineering is a branch that neither has boundaries nor restrictions; a branch so broad that it can be linked to any domain.

Dr Kishore Brahma, delivered a technical talk on Product life cycle Management, Design Philosophies and Career Opportunities in Aeronautical Engineering. He spoke in length about the various career opportunities for an Aeronautical graduate. Dr Kishore addressed the opportunities ahead in public, private and government sector.

An Aeronautical Engineer can also work in the army, air force and navy as engineers, aircraft maintenance engineers, design or stress engineers and also as IT engineers he said. The talk stressed on quality and planning required by Aeronautical engineers to be industry ready. He also threw light on the entrepreneurial ventures one can take up. He said, for startups, the mission, team, idea, planning, location, marketing and competition should be kept in mind.

Dr Divakar Shetty, dean academics presided over the function and insisted that students should master time management. He appreciated the activities conducted by the association AURA and congratulated the students for winning technical events of national repute.

Ajith Kumar faculty coordinator AURA welcomed the dignitaries.

Sanjay MV, student president AURA, presented the annual report which included the events conducted by AURA, faculty achievements, internships attended.

Head of the Aeronautical Engineering Dr G Purushotham, faculty members and students were present at the event.

Department of Aeronautical Engineering is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and established AURA in the year 2013. Students from AURA won the prestigious National Hoverpod Championship at IIT Kharagpur in 2019 and also the Best Design Award at Indian Space Challenge held at IIT Bhuvaneshwar. In 2018, the department recorded two university ranks from VTU, Belagavi.
